So as the winter season nears its half way mark, how are we doing compared to last year at this time:
From Nov. 1st 2009 to Jan 12th 2010 Chicago (O'Hare) was at 28.3"
From Nov 1st 2010 to Jan 12h 2011 Chicago (O'Hare is now at 22.9"
So we are 6 inches behind last year, and if we didn't count this lastest 6" burst we had yesterday, we would have been trailing by a lot more. With snow expected on the 14th, 17th, and 21st this month, it is very possible we could be caught up with last year's totals.
Also something to note. So from Indianapolis and Chicago (O'Hare) are identical in total snowfall for the season at 22.9". It appears the winter outlook for Indy is spot on with above average precipitation.
